06:46 am [Link]	It is time once again for: RUPERT AND SALAD BARBARIAN'S DAY OF FUN! On friday the 13th I decided to wander hither and yon. Since I didn't want him to feel left out I let Rupert join me as long as he promised not to sing so much this time. Warning several images under the cut. 03:19 pm [Link]	I've survived 17 years! After a hell of a lot of computer problems (which I'll talk about latter in a separate post) I have finally come back to update this thing. First in honer of Halloween and all of the candy I got for my birthday: ( Read more... ) I got a lot of stuff I wanted for my b-day including: a new watch (the old one's battery couldn't be replaced), the aforementioned hoard of candy, a mini sd card for my media player, a can of pumpkin, new headphones (I tend to go through them quick), some cans of juice, and THE TICK: Karma Tornado, The Complete Works (technically I bought it my self but I still count it). I may or may not have nefarious purposes for these items. Also I'm seriously considering taking Rupert out for another walk tomorrow. 09:10 pm [Link]	Does toyota make computers? A long ramble about my computer woes: Well my computer has been acting up with a few blue screens. I did a disk scan that supposedly fixed a bunch of things. I tried to do a system restore to before I installed speedy fox* (which was the last program I installed) but it wouldn't work. Then I tried to defragment and got a blue screen. Also now firefox won't keep me logged in to anything so every time I open it I have to sign in to everything. So then I tried to delete all of my cache and I found out that I had to do some thing else to get rid of my temp files (I thought I had been doing this but I wasn't). Then I booted up in safe mode and tried to defragment again only to get a blue screen after a few moments. I tried to delete a few of the bigger files and tried again. Again I get a blue screen. So I call a friend of my dad who fixes computers for a living. He said it might be because of something plugged in to the usb ports but nothing was connected most of the times it screwed up so it might be google chrome. After uninstalling chrome I figure everything will be ok right? Wrong! About a half hour latter another blue screen of doom. I'm going to try calling him again tomorrow and see if he can help again. I know there might be a way to fix it if I had a windows XP disk but I don't have one. Whenever the blue screen comes up it sometimes says something about a kernel_stack_inpage_error and atapi.sys. I have no idea what the hell any of that means. Does anyone know if Ubuntu is any good? Since windows seems messed up I might like to try something else but I don't know if all of the stuff I have would work with it. My computer wasn't acting right before I put it on but it got a lot worse afterward. I deleted what I could find of it so I'm pretty sure it's gone. Current Location:* I don't know. 02:59 am [Link]	'ello people Well despite the lack of posts here I actually haven't been all that busy. Well technically I have been doing stuff. Everyday I have a bunch of rss feeds to check (I'm not sure how many but I know it's over 300), plus 3 friends lists to try and keep up with, and 4 sites that I try to answer peoples' questions. But the point I wandered away from is that I should be writing more here. I'm sorry if you have missed my wit and wisdom. Now to entertain you here are the new things I tried at the Taste of Chicago: an Irish Egg roll, Chocolate Gelato, a Maxwell street burger (Burger patty topped with a piece of pork chop, a little chunk of polish sausage, and grilled onions), Vegetarian BBQ twist on a stick, and several Banana Chocolate Egg roles. The Irish egg roll was good except that it was served with some kind of mustard that I had to wipe off. The veggie BBQ thing was a little too hot for me. Out of all the things I ate I liked the banana chocolate egg roles the best. To anyone who might use the Kedzie bridge in Marquette park you might want to find an alternative route. I was there a few days ago and it's not in very good shape. There is a walkway under the bridge and from there it looks like the whole thing is coming apart. Well friends I must leave you for a few days starting tonight. Rupert: "Why Salad B? What are you going to do tonight?" The thing I haven't done for several weeks now Rupert. 07:26 am [Link]	I've come back to leave again. Ok where was I? Oh yeah I was spending too much time at work. But more importantly I now have all of the materials to make my coffin case. I have the wood all cut and mostly screwed together, I have a cotton lining for the inside and black vinyl to cover it inside and out. Also I've mostly figured out a carrying strap. The only downside is I haven't been working on it as much as I could have. Curse you laziness! almost shakes fist but decides it's too much effort In other news my mom broke her leg. She was crossing the street and tripped on a really bad pot hole: She has to use a walker to get around the apartment but some places are inaccessible because there isn't enough room here for a walker. You may have noticed the date thingy on the picture. That is due to my parents buying me a new camera. My old one was ok except that the battery compartment wouldn't stay closed. Even tape wouldn't keep it shut. The new one is alright except that it sucks up battery power quick and it won't accept the full potential of the memory card. It has a setting for taking close up shots so Gentleman John will be getting more use. I could rant on for a bit longer about several other electronic devices as well as having to work under the management of other security companies but I have even more work tonight so I need my "don't snap and set people on fire" sleep. 08:01 am [Link]	I'm not dead! I just wanted to do a short update. I've been busy lately with some things (but not so much work). I've started walking more and I'm building a casket bag/carrying case. Plus I've had two encounters with the blue screen of doom so I've been trying to figure out ways to back up all of my stuff.
